BEARDED DRAGON
Bearded Dragon Care Guide
- Bearded dragons can live to ten years to fifteen years.
- Bearded dragons (beardies) are medium sized desert lizards and they need lots of care.
- Beardies also can range in a large amount of colors like red, brown, yellow and white.
Food
They are omnivores so they eat lots of different foods. They eat food like collard greens, mustard greens and they also eat a lot of insects like dubia roaches, crickets, superworms, hornworms and all other worms.
Baths
When you give a beardie a bath you will have to make it stay there until they poop because they are potty trained to go to the bathroom in a bath. They also sometimes won’t like the bath but usually will.
Tank
If you want to get a beardie you will need to get a tank so I recommend getting a 20 gallon when they are babies and a 40 gallon when they are adults that’s 36 inches.
Decor
When you are shopping and putting decorations in your beardie’s tank you will want a food and water dish, a basking spot, and at least two hides. You can also add hammocks and other fun stuff that’s not dangerous.
Lighting
When it comes to lighting it can get very expensive because they need heat and lighting. You need to get a cool and warm side on their tank. You will want it to be 110 degrees on the warm side and 80-90 degrees on the cool side. You will need to get a heat gun and that can be expensive.
Safety Tips
You will want to take it to the vet at least once a year and make sure it doesn’t have any problems. If you see droopy eyes or any other wierd things, take it to the vet immediately. Also don’t let it near any other pets you have or they both can get hurt.
